GMA's Martial Law | Martial Law in Maguindanao

Being in Commander - in - Chief of all armed forces of the Philippines, the President may call out the armed forces to prevent or suppress law less violence, invasion or rebellion.
Placing the entire province of Maguindanao under martial rule is the exercise of this power.
But everything GMA does os suspicious. Thus, criticisms on the use of this power to keep sprouting here and there.
A presidentiable acknowledge the need to instill peace and order in Maguindanao. But they are also wary and afraid this could lead to an attemp for charter change. As Congreess would convene to check the legality and validity of the proclamation, people should be on guard to prevent the joint session be possibly used as an opportunity to convene the Consituent Assembly.
Other critics denounced the procalamation as NO BASIS. For there is no invasion or rebellion in Maguindanao.
It is very clear that the problem in Mindanao is a very complex one. The arms - cache found in the Ampatuan Residence is enough proof of a " CLEAR and PRESENT DANGER" which could undermine the place in Mindanao. And most likely it will spread to the rest of the nation.
The solution to this problem lies in how we should elect our next president. A president who is decisive and ready to face challenges in the future.
